FAQ's
Most of us are very casual with what we wear. Some of our members wear jeans and a t-shirt and others feel more comfortable in slacks and a button up. Rest easy that whatever you choose to wear, you’ll be welcomed.
Kids Corner is a place for kids to learn and play during our 11am worship gathering.
Our children’s ministry values 3 things: 1) Jesus, 2) Safety and 3) Fun! Every worker is background checked and your kids are never alone.
We have a nursery for the little ones and a Kids Corner service for children up to the age of 12.
Each week, our teachers provide a lesson, crafts, in-class activities, and sometimes snacks! (Make sure to alert our kids workers if your child has an allergies.)
We never ask newcomers to give to our church. In fact, we don’t even pass a bucket. We know it’s a big stumbling block for a lot of people and we do our best to make it about Christ and Christ alone.
However, we believe it is a joy to love and serve the church in every way possible and that includes giving our resources for the Kingdom. We keep a tight budget that maximizes the most opportunities for the advancement of the gospel.
Our church is a product of the partnership between First Baptist Tillman’s Corner and the former members of St. Elmo Bible Church. The pastors of First Baptist Tillman’s Corner are our pastors and their church is aiding our church as we begin to grow. Eventually, we will completely transition to being an independent Southern Baptist fellowship.
The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself in writing to humanity. It was written by men but inspired by God and is truth without any mixture of error. The Bible points to Jesus Christ, the focus of God’s revelation of Himself to us and the one through which we have salvation.
The God revealed in the Bible is the only living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and Ruler of the world. Though God is one being, He has revealed himself in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We owe God our highest love, worship, and obedience.
God created humanity as a special creation made in His own image. Humanity sinned against God and sin spread to all those who were created by God both by nature and by choice. This has left humanity dead in sin.
Salvation is offered to those who will believe and trust in the work of Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life yet died the death of a sinner on the cross as our substitute. When a person trusts in the finished work of Christ, God forgives his sin and makes him a new creation. The work of salvation happens in this life but will be completed when Jesus returns.
The Church is made up of all those who believe in Jesus. Though the universal church is one body, believers assemble in local churches for the purpose of worship, Christian education, and accountability. fellowship.
Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth. Those who have believed in Christ will spend eternity with the Lord, but those who die in their own unrighteous state will be consigned to a place of eternal destruction.
